10mm advanced compound foam, feels lighter and softer whilst offering slightly better protection that straight PE. Rates slightly higher in impact attenuation tests, i.e. deceleration of an impacting object. Softer nature of the compound makes for a more comfortable fit as well as allowing the use of a full-length side impact band, across the key impact areas to the side of the head. The foam is also less heat retaining and allows the headgear to be designed to fit closer to the head on the top. This leads to a snugger, more secure feeling.

Headgear sizes are based on an individual’s head size, rather than age or body size. Measure your head to find your head circumference measurement then use the table below to select the best size. Headgear perform the best when they are the right fit, not so large that they slip around in play and not too tight. PRO TIP: Once you have received your headgear wear it in a warm (not hot!) shower – this allows the foam to mould nicely to your head shape.

How to measure

To get the best measurement for a headgear, use a tape measure or piece of string. Measure across the forehead going around the side of the head just above the tips of the ears and around the back of the head.

If in doubt please feel free to contact us with the measurement you get and we are more than happy to recommend the best size. Because headgear are made to order it’s very important that the size ordered is correct.

Unfortunately not! Customised scrum cap are made to order in the colours selected. We cannot accept them back for an exchange or refund. Please get in touch with us before placing your order if you have any questions or concerns around sizing, colours or anything else. We're happy to help!

Custom scrum cap are created to order in the colours chosen. This process does come with a lead time of around 1-2 weeks, depending on the number of orders we are working through! Once your scrum cap is completed we will ship it on the shipping method chosen at the check out. The delivery times can be viewed in our shipping page here.
All orders are processed at quickly as possible. The lead times are based on the workload. If we have received an order where Express shipping has been purchased, we will get those scrum cap created urgently. We are not able to guarantee delivery dates unfortunately.

No. A scrum cap will not prevent a concussion per se but can reduce the severity of the impact to the point where it may reduce the likelihood of that impact resulting in a concussion.
